Bancroft first grade students from A-5, Mrs. Peterson’s class, had the best library media center book return percentage for the month and won a five minute ‘all they could carry’ book exchange last week. Students had five minutes to select as many library books as they could carry to recognize their exceptional responsibility for returning library books on time. The students had a fantastic time selecting many different types of books to read.
Third Grade Celebrates Law Day at Bancroft
Bancroft third grade students celebrated Law Day on Friday, February 10, 2017. This is an annual event that fits perfectly into the third grade social studies government curriculum. Bancroft parent and local area lawyer, Mr. Don Kohler, comes to play the role of the judge. This interactive skit allows students take part in a court case involving an incident on the bus. Students are the jury who decide the liability after hearing all the evidence. Law Day is a fun and interactive way for students to learn more about government roles and increases student reading fluency.
