Mrs. April Maule’s fifth grade students spent this year reading about historical figures who made great changes towards civil rights, farm-worker’s rights, ending slavery, and the right for women to vote. This past week they got to celebrate their year’s worth of learning by becoming the important people they researched during the fifth grade Wax Museum. It was wonderful to see Bancroft Elementary School students dressed as some of the amazing activists who have helped change the world for the better: Rosa Parks, Henry “Box” Brown, Martin Luther King Jr., Susan B. Anthony, Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta.
