Please see our May 2016 Calendar to view events at Bancroft Elementary School.
Attention all fourth and fifth grade students! You are invited to attend the Kennett Consolidated School District’s 2nd annual STEM Camp this summer. We have expanded the program to 60 students. This year’s camp will run for one week for six hours a day. Students will design, build, and test their robots ~ it’s really a great opportunity. Click on the links below for more information!
Congratulations to two of Bancroft Elementary School’s fifth grade students (center and left–front) who were selected to perform at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) String Fest at the Westtown School. Along with other string students from Delaware and Chester Counties, the students practiced for six hours during the day to be ready to perform their pieces that evening for their parents.
Students and staff at Bancoft Elementary School planted a school garden from scratch. Planter boxes were constructed and filled with top soil that was donated by Laurel Valley Soils. Then the vegetable plants, donated by West Chester Food Bank, were added along with water and sunshine. Now we wait for the vegetables to mature. The vegetables will be used in the school’s cafeteria and will be donated to the Kennett Food Cupboard. The garden will be a three-season garden, growing vegetables in the spring, summer, and fall. The garden will also become an outdoor classroom, complete with native plant species and benches.
The students and staff at Bancroft Elementary School are excited to support the school’s third, fourth, and fifth grade students taking the PSSA in English/language arts and mathematics over the next two weeks by wearing theme day apparel. Each day students should wear specially-picked theme-day clothing to help encourage students taking the PSSA. The schedule for the themes is below. Help support our students taking the PSSA and cheer them on to success!
