Over the past month, the first grade students at Bancroft Elementary School have been studying various landforms. They should be able to tell you about mountains, valleys, the plains, and much more. The students have thoroughly enjoyed reading and writing about our Earth’s land and water. During the study they walked around the school property to look for signs of erosion.
As a concluding project, each first grade class made volcanoes. They then demonstrated the main eruption with soda and Mentos outside, and watched the lava flow eruptions in our classrooms. Everyone had a BLAST!
