Each year in February, third grade students at Bancroft Elementary School participate in Law Day to highlight the social studies curriculum study of American government. Bancroft Elementary School parent and lawyer, Mr. Donald Kohler, visits the school to teach students about the different parts of a legal proceeding and plays the judge. Third grade students take part in a skit about a bus law case. Students take part in this mock interactive trial by serving as various members in the case. They memorize lines and help reach a verdict while increasing their reading fluency.
